The Territory
Sestriere, a must-visit destination for mountain lovers
The Sestriere pass rises at 2,035 metres above sea level, straddling the Susa and Chisone valleys. A gem of the International Ski Resorts, it holds the record for the highest number of Alpine Skiing World Cup races held on its slopes, most notably the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics and the 1997 World Championships. The greatest champions of skiing and cycling have passed through here, along the legendary stages of the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France. In summer, athletics champions come here to train, and the International Meeting with the best athletes has been held here several times.
